November Already?

I can't believe that November has hit Moontown already!

Jeepers creepers - where did the rest of the year go? We're just starting to get over Easter and all of a sudden, BAM, here comes Christmas. Everywhere I looked today there were Christmas decorations and treats, signs telling me how many shopping days were left (oh how I LOATHE Christmas shopping!), order forms for turkeys, bon bons etc etc.
Still...at least that means that this year is moving forward, which means we are getting closer to Bug...and that's got to be a good thing right?

Things have been pretty hectic (as always!) in Moontown. Construction of the Moon Mansion is going well, and we are hoping to have handover about the 15th of December. Ahhh....all I want for Christmas is ducted airconditioning :-) There is no way that P will have his pool for Christmas though - the plans have been in at our local council for about 3 months and we still don't have approval...here's hoping we get some news before we head to Thailand.

Ahh...Thailand. Land of Red Curry Duck, Poolside cocktails, Beach umbrellas, Sleep-ins, Singha Beer and Pad Thai. Yum!! We were lucky enough to go to Phuket this time last year for a second honeymoon, and (what we thought was) our last holiday as a couple...Well, since there is no baby anywhere in sight at the moment, we thought "bugger it" and booked a third honeymoon at http://www.twinpalms-phuket.com/. Looks fantastic - let's hope it actually is fantastic! P willm enjoy the pool, and the beach and little beachside restaurants and Thai massage salons (the respectable ones!) are only 100m walk away. Sounds wonderful.

Anyway back to the house. We have had a few hassles with it today....like the painter buying and tinting all the paint for the entire house (and it's a HUGE house), and then us deciding that the colour was too yellow. The painter was heading back to the paint shop this morning to buy an entirely new colour. Yep, we're starting the painting over again.

P is also making noises about re-doing part of the kitchen 'cause we're not happy with the way the benchtop looks with the cupboards. Choosing colours from those little 10cm colour cards is SO HARD!!! Obviously that's not where our talent lies...oh no, OUR talent lies in choosing badly and then having to re-do everything. At that we excel!

The house will be lovely...the house will be lovely...the house will be lovely.....repeat until that slightly sick feeling in your tummy goes away...

Welcome!

Welcome to China Moon!

Everyone who knows us will understand the "Moon" part of the title of this blog, and I guess the China part isn't that hard to work out either....but not everyone will understand the references (many, many references) that will be made to "Bug".

Well...Bug is the nickname we have given to our soon-to-be precious baby...We are not sure whether our bub will be a he or a she and we didn't want to start referring to him/her by a specific name, so one day T started calling him/her "bug". And it has stuck. Like glue. Poor child is probably going to hate us 'cause I'm sure he/she will be stuck with this nickname forever!

Bug is short for ladybug..And ladybugs are the unofficial mascot of international adoption from China. They are also now our favourite animal, and P lives in fear of our entire house being taken over by red things with black spots!

T's mum has gotten on board with the whole ladybug thing and regularly has little gifts for bug that are red and black in nature...So P's fears aren't exactly unfounded!

Life is pretty hectic in Moontown at the moment, so I am not sure how often I will update this blog...But as time marches on and we get closer to Bug there will be lots of updates I'm sure - so keep checking back!
